I am a medical student at Universidad Latina in San Jose, Costa Rica.  As a med student from a developing country, I experience the importance and the contribution Open Access, Open Data and Open education bring to the world on a daily basis. This is why I decided to get involved in the Open movement. I am currently the Request System Manager for the Open Access Button, a plug-in that helps people get access to articles and data they need for free and legally, and a proud OpenCon alumn. My interests include Open Data for development, public health research, epidemiology and all things open.
